Wrangle Yer Pages, Export Yer Notebooks.

Penultimate is not only beautiful and easy to use, but is also a serious tool. We’re proud to announce the availability of version 2.2, which introduces a handful of key features that really make the app more flexible for serious users:
- Page browse & management. (Yes.) Using a seriously fun drag/swipe gesture, which is basically our new favorite pastime, you can reveal the hidden “left” side of the notebook. (The drag grip is just to the left of the “previous page” tap area.) Didn’t you always wonder what was over there? Now you know: thumbnails of all the pages in the notebook. Tap one to jump to that page. Or hold it down for a moment, and you’ll be able to delete the page, duplicate the page, or drag it around to reorder it. Want to add a new page? Just tap the “Insert Page” button in the toolbar.
- Sending and opening of editable “Penultimate Notebook” (.pen) files. Want to email a notebook to a colleague who also has Penultimate so they can work on it? Now you can. Or email it to yourself to open later.
- iTunes File Sharing for exporting PDFs, and export/import of notebooks. A very popular request, we held off on this due to bugs in Apple’s iOS 3.2. But now for users of the new iPad software, you can send large PDFs to iTunes instead of by email. And for the Penultimate Notebooks, above, you can both export and import via iTunes.
- Backup with “Send All to iTunes”. A one-button way to push current copies of all your notebooks to one folder in the iTunes File Sharing area for backup purposes.
- Fun Bonus Feature: Save a single page to your Photos library.
Enjoy! If you have questions or problems with any of the new features, or just want to talk to us about other stuff you’d like to see soon, head on over to our community page at http://community.cocoabox.com — we’d be happy to meet you.
If you really like the new stuff, or the app in general, we’d appreciate some kind words over on iTunes in a review if you get a chance— thanks!
