Hi everyone out there in Internet land! I’m Ben, and I wanted to take a moment to say hello as the founder of Cocoa Box Design and the primary developer of Penultimate.

Your response to Penultimate over the course of just the last couple weeks has been incredible. The idea of a beautiful app dedicated to taking easy, attractive notes by hand on the iPad is clearly resonating with a lot of folks, which is really encouraging.

With the (relative) popularity of the app has come an enormous amount of incredibly valuable feedback, in the form of emails, app reviews, coverage on blogs, etc. I love seeing this feedback—positive and negative—because it’s nearly always constructive.

In addition to fixing the few bugs and hiccups that have been reported, we’re evaluating all of the feedback we’ve seen to make sure that the upcoming updates continue to add real value. 

I am asked frequently when the app will have some particular feature. This is hard to answer, because I don’t like making promises if I’m not totally certain that something in particular is right for most users and will appear in a predictable timeframe. I want to make sure that as a developer I have the trust of my customers and loyal users.

But rest assured: Penultimate is under active development. There’s lots of room still to grow here, and you have all been providing crucial thoughts as to how you see that happening. Updates and maybe previews of works-in-progress will appear here.
